Since 1973, when we began our taxonomic works with the Cacti, we went, for circumstance, involved with Bromeliaceas, because they are almost always plants that divide the same habitat. Today, we developed intensive search of the bromeliads of the Cerrado, where in their different ecosystems they live hundreds of endemic species.
For those years, we testified the destruction of hundreds of habitat of that family in the Biome Cerrado and, with the indiscriminate deforestation, an uncontrollable practice and in accelerated progress, it is right that dozens of species were already extinguished and another also take imminent risk. |

In the Cerrado, remaining Bromeliads of the deforestation and of the fire, they are destroyed systematically by the farmers that don't support their thorns and like this, several species ignored by the science, they are being extinguished before even of they are known. |
