Endemic species of Bromelia, they are destroyed at the Cerrado

Species of the gender Bromelia are being destroyed systematically in the area of the Cerrado to give place to plantations of rice, corn and, mainly for the soy cultivation. Many endemic species were already decimated and another takes similar risk. Species that grow directly in the soil are pulled by the tractors and later burning.
